The humble beginnings of FPA date back to 2007, when the company was just a small business with 4 employees under its wing. Started by Mr. Narayan Walawalkar, FPA began with a vision to revolutionize the world of lighting and electrical engineering.

The initial projects of the company were mainly in the mechanical domain: supplying pumping machinery solutions at the domestic and industrial levels. The company proved to be efficient and delivered its promises on time, and as a result, saw them rapidly expanding with more projects over the years that followed. Over time, this small company of 4 employees transformed into a corporate entity of 80+ employees and growing, and today is one of the leading providers of electrical engineering and lighting solutions, with an ever-expanding list of MEP services.

When we sat with the founder of FPA, Mr. Narayan Walawalkar to understand the story behind the company, the glint in his eye of the nostalgia and reminiscence of the company’s humble beginnings was apparent. When asked “is there any special project you feel connected to?”, there came a quick response “every project is special to me!” It’s needless to say, Mr. Narayan Walawalkar is proud of what the company has become today.

But how did a company which mainly handled mechanical services diversify into the architecture design and lighting domain? That’s where Mr. Anurag Walawalkar came into the picture. With an intention to venture into the lighting industry, a goal was set to upgrade domain knowledge and get new technology to India. That’s how the journey started, and the lead of specializing in architectural lighting design was taken up by Anurag. While Anirudh was handling the day-to-day workings of the firm, Anurag set out to get a certification from Germany to move the company further. With a master’s in architectural lighting design, Anurag along with Anirudh have been the key driving force in the company’s diversification into the lighting and architectural design domain. The two brothers also hold an MBA from Goa Institute of Management too, which is apparent in the efficiency and certainty with which they handle the business.

Today, the collective efforts of the founders, partners and employees of the company has yielded in FPA becoming one of the leading providers of lighting and MEP solutions around the world. With the vast experience and knowledge, the company has garnered over the years, the company has also undertaken the activity of providing consultancy services, helping their clients with complete project needs – from inception to completion. The company is ever-expanding and growing, and has a long list of goals and milestones waiting to be achieved in the years to come!
